The start to life at Vipers could have been better for Neiva, whose first competitive game saw his side eliminated from the FUFA Super 8 Tournament by BUL FC early this month.
"This game for us we need to play so offensively. We need to score, we just need to think about scoring," Neiva said ahead of the game.
"And of course, we cannot concede goals. We expect a lot Galaxy FC, they have a very good squad, a very good coach, experienced coach," he added.
Thabang Vincent Sesinyi scored a goal in either half to guide Jwaneng Galaxy to victory and give them an advantage heading into the return leg.

Vipers SC's recent 2-0 setback against Jwaneng Galaxy in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League hasn't dampened the spirits of the team.
"We have the ability and the capacity to come back. They have a two-goal advantage, and even if we win 3-1 they progress, so we have to make sure we don't concede," the Brazilian noted.
Having played in the group stages of the continental showpiece last season, the Venoms have eyes on returning to the same stage but must go through the preliminary stages first.
The winner of the tie will progress and face either South Africa's Orlando Pirates or Comoros' Djabal FC.
