The spotlight is now on Vipers Sports Club and their former head coach as the football world waits with bated breath for the outcome of this tussle.

Vipers Sports Club is reportedly gearing up to open legal proceedings against their former head coach, Alex Isabirye.

This comes amidst a complex series of events that have pushed their relationship to an unprecedented low over the past few weeks.

Isabirye, who was officially appointed as Vipers' coach on March 12th, replacing the dismissed Brazilian coach Beto Bianchi, managed a total of 20 games, winning 11 and losing only four.

His performance led Vipers to their first double under his leadership. However, this accomplishment was not enough to save the turbulent relationship that culminated in Isabirye's resignation.

Vipers argue that Isabirye failed to uphold the professional standards of the club, accusing him of breaching several contract terms.

The club's management pointed out that the former coach had been AWOL on numerous occasions.

A disciplinary hearing was planned for the errant coach on Thursday, as confirmed by an official letter issued to Isabirye earlier this week.

The club noted, "Isabirye consistently and without authority from your employer, absconded from duty."

Additionally, insiders from Vipers indicated that Isabirye breached his contract terms by accepting another coaching role with the Buganda Region in the FUFA Drum without prior consent from the club.

Alex Isabirye guided Vipers SC to their first-ever domestic double.

Isabirye, in his response to the club, refuted the allegations, stating, "I did not intentionally abscond from my duties as head coach.”

“I was involved in an accident and had to seek medical attention. I immediately informed the club CEO, Mr. Simon Peter Njuba, of my absence."

His dispute with the club, however, extends beyond absences. In his resignation letter, he made grave accusations about breach of contract, notably regarding the recruitment of players and selection of his assistant team.

Isabirye explained, "Article 5, Section 3 and 4 of my employment contract states that I am responsible for endorsing players being recruited and choosing my assistant team/staff in consultation with club management.”

“However, this clause was not honoured, and I was not aware of the recruitment of three of the current members of the team."

He expressed his dissatisfaction about the recruitment of assistant coach Mr. Raoul Lukusa Kayembe, Brazilian player Glancarlo Lopez Rodrigues, and Luis Otavio Santos de Araujo, all of whom were unveiled in early July without his endorsement.

"1 have reconsidered the targets that you have set for me and I find that I will not be able to achieve them without my ability to endorse players and choose my own staff," he concluded.
