Fixtures involving clubs with three or more players summoned for the Uganda National Men’s ‘A’ team (Uganda Cranes) preparations for AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania and the Regional Tour match have been adjusted.
The Uganda Premier League secretariat has gone against its word to ensure fixture stability by readjusting the league fixtures to accommodate Uganda Cranes regional tour games.
The Uganda Cranes are set to play a regional tour of Bundibugyo as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
The Cranes host Tanzania next Friday 24th before the reverse fixture four days later.
The Vipers-KCCA and URA-Busoga United fixtures that had been scheduled for next Sunday 19th and Tuesday 21st next week have been called off indefinitely.
The UPL has quoted parts of Article 19 of the FUFA Competitions Rules to justify their reason for rescheduling the fixtures and four others.
“Fixtures involving clubs with three or more players summoned for the Uganda National Men’s ‘A’ team (Uganda Cranes) preparations for AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania and the Regional Tour match have been adjusted, UPL stated.
Vipers, URA and KCCA have three players called to the team.
