KCCA FC, Vipers and FUFA Big League players dominate the Uganda Cranes squad for the Eastern Regional Tour as preparations start for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations against Algeria.
Up to five players from the recently-concluded StarTimes FUFA Big League have been called for the Uganda Cranes team for the Eastern Regional Tour in Buyende District.
The second-division joint-top scorer Denis Omedi who scored 22 goals has been called but the golden boot’s other half and most valuable player Henry Kitegenyi has been shunned.

Mato shrugged off competition from SC Villa's David Owori and Busoga United's Laban Tibita.
Others include Kataka’s goalkeeper Edward Kasibante, Ronald Kayondo and Lazaro Bwambale (Kitara), Ibrahim Tembo (Mbarara City), and NEC’s skipper Marvin Kavuma.
Vipers, with six players, including captain Milton Karisa have the most number of players in the team, while KCCA will provide five.
Rogers Mato, who scored Uganda’s lone winner against Tanzania, is among the quintet from Lugogo.
