FJL Vipers rout Friends of Soccer to take charge of FUFA Junior League table

The young Venoms struggled to beat Mbarara Soccer Academy 2-1 in their opening match on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru but returned a different outfit on Tuesday.

Vipers Sports Club Junior Team has thrashed Friends of Soccer 6-0 to take the lead in the 2022/23 FUFA Junior League national championship.

The young Venoms struggled to beat Mbarara Soccer Academy 2-1 in their opening match on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru but returned a different outfit on Tuesday.

Arafat Nkoola opened the floodgates within three minutes to put the Buganda Regional champions ahead.

The boys in white put resistance to maintain a decent score into half-time.

Farouk Tumwesigye doubled the lead, again three minutes into the half, to express their intent.

Ibra Ssebagala added the third ten minutes later before Frank Sekanjaako and Leonard Kasenyi stretched the lead.

Nkoola, who had opened the scores, sealed the result in the 76th minute.

The result takes Vipers top of the five-team table with seven points after two games.

A win with a margin of more than two goals guarantees a team an extra point.

BUL FC JT are the defending champions after winning the last edition n 2019 while Vipers are two-time winners.
