SUPL Vipers SC 1-0 KCCA FC Player ratings

Allan Damba • 22:37 - 05.05.2023

But, how did the players of both teams acquit themselves on the evening?

Vipers SC edged KCCA FC 1-0 at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende to make proper ground in the hunt for league glory this season.

Milton Karisa netted late in the second half as the Venoms hit second with 45 points, one adrift of leaders SC Villa who have played two games more.

But, how did the players of both teams acquit themselves on the evening?

Fabien Mutombora - 07

Composed and commanding display from the Burundi International. Dealt with everything that came his way his ease. Pointless attack on Torach though.

Ashraf Mandela - 06

Steady defensive display from Mandela, but lacked impact in the opposite half. Dealt well with Rogers Mato.

Isa Mubiru - 06

Offered more on his wing than Mandela. Dealt with Allan Okello well in the first half, but his deliveries were lacking.

Hillary Mukundane - 08

Stout, commanding, and colossal. Dealt with any danger posed by the KCCA attack led by Kankonde. He's an aerial kingpin.

Rogers Torach - 07

Had one moment of lapse early in the second half, but otherwise a strong show from the teenager.  Calm, collected, and a great distributor of the ball.

Siraje Ssentamu - 06

Quiet yet efficient in shielding his backline. Played relatively fine with Nzau Lutumba as his midfield partner.

Nzau Lutumba - 06

Neat in possession and offered a certain calmness when Ssentamu battled with the likes of Saidi Mayanja and Moses Waiswa.

Abubakar Lawal - 07

Arguably the most hardworking player on the pitch. He's proving doubters wrong with every opportunity he gets. Was strong on the night, linking the midfield to attack well.

Milton Karisa - 08

Chased everything that there was. Created a few chances as well but were wasted. He then took his goal with the purpose that scooped maximum points. A skipper's performance.

Karim Ndugwa - 05

A quiet evening for the prolific marksman. Was denied a sniff at goal by Geofrey Wasswa.

Martin Kizza - 06

A decent shift on the left side of Vipers' attack. Decent deliveries as well from set pieces. Offered Mubiru cover when they were out of possession.

KCCA FC

Benjamin Ochan - 06

Stood strong for 88 minutes before Karisa breached his goal, which he couldn't do a lot to save.

Filbert Obenchan - 05

Not influential enough going upfront from right-back. Stood strong against an energetic Kizza.

Mustapha Kizza - 05

A few decent deliveries from the left but didn't have a willing attacker. Fazed later on as Karisa enjoyed a party.

Mustafa Mujuzi - 05

Defended well before the final stages of the match. When tested, Mujuzi can be peripheral.

Geoffrey Wasswa - 06

A good show from the dependable defender. Strong and distributed the ball well from defense. Dealt well with Ndugwa.

Saidi Mayanja - 07

Perhaps KCCA's best player on the pitch. Was always vibrant, offered great energy, and almost stole a point for his team with the last kick of the game.

Moses Waiswa - 06

Neat and tidy as always. Tried to create things but not one of his best games, as per the standards he's set for himself.

Allan Okello - 07

Quiet first half, but a good second.   Caused Mubiru a few problems. His curling shot hit the crossbar, before head coach Jackson Mayanja hooked him off, to the surprise of many.

Rogers Mato - 05

One of his not-so-good days. Tried to make things happen but was only limited to half chances. Dealt with well by Mandela.

Tshisungu Kankonde - 03

Pocketed by both Mukundane and Torach, as he got frustrated. Not a single sniff at Mutombora's goal. The punching of referee Mashood Ssali summed up his evening.
