Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC has completed the signing of left-back Richard Matovu, who joins from Arua Hill SC, making him the third signing in the window after Giancarlo Rodriguez and David Bagoole.
The versatile defender left Arua Hill at the end of the previous 2022/23 season, announcing his exit over a week back.
The left-back has penned a two-year employement contract, that will see him at Kitende at least until 2025.
"I am very excited and can't wait to work with the group," Matovu spoke to the club media on Tuesday.
"I am happy the deal got done. I am buzzing to be here and can't wait to get going," he added.
"It's a beautiful challenge that I am delighted to be a part of. I hope I can steer the club to more glory."
He joins in as a direct replacement for Disan Galiwango, who departed Vipers about a fortnight ago.
Meanwhile, Matovu was a big part in the Arua Hill team for the two years, featuring in 47 Uganda Premier Leage games across two seasons.
In the previous campaign, he managed 25 appearances in the league, as he guided the Leopards to fourth with 44 points, an excellent return.
He is expected to compete for a starting place with the likes of Isa Mubiru and St Mary's Secondary School Kitende graduate Enock Luyima.
Besides Arua Hill, Matovu has previously played for BUL FC and Kyetume FC in the top-flight.
