Watambala has been part of the Vipers' senior team since the 2019/20 season when he made his debut as an 18-year-old.

As they continue to strengthen ahead of the new season, Vipers SC have extended midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala's stay at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

The talented player has signed a two-year contract extension with the Venoms to push his stay until 2025.

Watambala has been part of the Vipers' senior team since the 2019/20 season when he made his debut as an 18-year-old.

The 23-year-old has since made 72 league appearances across four campaigns, including 18 in the most recent one, where they defended the league title.

Watambala has netted seven goals in the league during that time, including seven in the 2022/23 campaign.

His latest came in the penultimate game of last season against BUL FC in a 1-1 stalemate, a late point that was crucial in clinching the league.

Watambala is a proven winner, as he has won three Uganda Premier League titles and two Uganda Cups as a Venom.

He has never played for any other team since he graduated from St Mary's Secondary School, Kitende (SMASK), Vipers' primary feeder side.

Vipers intend to compete better in the CAF Champions League as they try to win the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup.
