The defender’s stint with Peterhead FC came to an end as the club opted not to offer him a new deal along with nine other players.

Defender Enock Walusimbi is on the verge of joining Vipers SC after his departure from Scottish lower division side Peterhead Football Club.

Walusimbi is said to have agreed terms with Vipers after talks went successfully and is expected to be unveiled as their new player soon.

The defender’s stint with Peterhead FC came to an end as the club opted not to offer him a new deal along with nine other players.

The 24-year-old defender had joined the Scottish club in September of the previous year, signing a three-year contract.

Unfortunately, his time at the club was plagued by setbacks, including delayed working permits, a hamstring injury, and frequent changes in management throughout the season.

Although Walusimbi's stay in Scotland was challenging, he did manage to showcase his skills in two league games before his team faced relegation to the Scottish League Two last season.

Nevertheless, he is eager to turn a new leaf and reignite his career at home.

Prior to his Scottish adventure, Walusimbi had caught the attention of Dundee United during trials, after impressing with Team Fundi, a Uganda youth team that embarked on a tour of Spain.

Furthermore, his accolades in the Uganda Premier League speak volumes, as captained Express FC to a league victory and their triumph in the CECAFA Kagame Cup during his time at Wankulukuku in the 2020/21 season.

Now, with his imminent move to Vipers SC, Walusimbi has the opportunity to reclaim his place in the national team and revive his career.

Vipers SC, the defending champions, have been active in the current transfer season, securing the signings of David Bagoole from Jinja North FC, Richard Matovu from Arua Hill, and Brazilian striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez.
