Wakiso Giants FC finally got their league campaign back on track after they won their first game of the season on Friday.

The Purple Sharks managed a 2-0 win away against UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Grounds.

Midfielders Mulamba Blanchar and Kimera Kenneth scored the goals for John Luyinda’s side in the second half.

The first half had little to write about from both sides, but the visitors made it count in the second stanza, with Mulumba opening the scoring in the 64th minute before Kimera Kenneth sealed the deal in the 78th minute.

The win takes Wakiso Giants to four points after three games, having managed a 1-1 draw against Soltilo Bright Stars on matchday two.

Relatedly, newly promoted Kitara FC continued their dream start in the top flight with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win over Gaddafi FC.

At Wankulukuku, NEC FC were brought back to earth by record league champions SC Villa, who claimed a dominant 3-0 win on the day.

John Paul Acire’s own goal sandwiched strikes from Umar Lutalo and defender Arnold Odong as the Joogos picked up their first win.

Brian Ssenyondo’s Kitara lead the 16-team pack with nine points after three games.
