Walusimbi would later leave and join Scottish second-division side Peterhead FC, while Otim stayed and captained the Red Eagles.

They played together at Express FC as Walusimbi captained the Red Eagles to the 2021 Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup titles.

Walusimbi would later leave and join Scottish second-division side Peterhead FC, while Otim stayed and captained the Red Eagles.

However, the two are reunited at URA FC and featured on Friday as they guided their team to a 2-1 win over KCCA FC in the Super Eight.

For Otim, saving Moses Waiswa’s penalty in open play after five minutes was vital to inspire his side as they reached the final.

“We gave everything because we wanted to win for our coach (Sam Timbe). Coach Muhumuza told us to calm down and give our best, and that’s what we did,” Otim noted in the post-game presser.

“The togetherness and zeal of not giving up pushed us. Also, I want to thank my goalkeeper coach for the efforts; it’s a lot of work behind the scenes, and it’s paying off," he added.

Enock Walusimbi was debuting for the side, and his solid centre-back partnership with Najib Fesali was vital in helping the team win.

“It was a tough game, but the boys gave everything; the team spirit motivated by wanting to win for our late coach spurred us on; personally, I will continue working hard to help the team win more games," Walusimbi noted.

URA FC, under the stewardship of assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, will attempt to win their first FUFA Super Eight title when they face BUL FC on Sunday at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
