Wanyama, who has become increasingly peripheral in Canada in recent months, made his first MLS appearance of the season on Sunday morning.
Former Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama came on as a substitute as Montreal registered their first win of the season on the road against FC Dallas, beating them 2-1.
Wanyama made one interception in his 13 minutes on the pitch, and generally held his own as he helped Montreal maintain their lead to get all the three points.
The winning goal came from Josef Martinez in the 60th minute, breaking away to score and give Montreal a 2-1 lead.

Ruan Gregorio Teixeira played a significant role in setting up Martinez's goal by delivering a pass deep into the Dallas side.
Earlier in the match, Petar Musa made his debut for Dallas, scoring with a right-footed shot late in the first half to equalize after Jules-Anthony Vilsaint had initially put Montreal ahead in the 20th minute.
Montreal's next challenge is against Miami on March 10 in what seems to be a tough stretch of six consecutive road matches to open the season.
