Victor Wanyama was a second-half substitute as CF Montreal beat Mexican club Pumas UNAM in a Leagues Cup match at the Saputo Stadium in Montreal on Sunday morning.
The game ended 2-2 in regulation time and had to be settled on post-match penalties which Montreal won 4-2.

CF Montreal’s scoring drought was so long, spectators sitting behind the net brought giant arrows to point toward the goal.
Bryce Duke and Mathieu Choiniere were the first-half goal scorers for Montreal, while Gabriel Fernandez and Emanuel Montejano scored for the Mexican side.
Wanyama was delighted to be on the winning side yet again as Montreal made it back-to-back victories following last weekend's 2-0 victory over Charlotte.
“An important win. We go again on Wednesday,” Wanyama posted on his Facebook page.
Losada was also thrilled to see his charges respond positively on the pitch as they have now scored in two straight games, having failed to do so in their previous three games.

“I’m very happy with the result and the way we played tonight, especially for the first hour. This is going to give us a lot of confidence going forward,” Losada said, as per Canadian outlet National Post.
“The atmosphere tonight was incredible, this felt like a real Cup tie and the fans of both teams were involved for the entire match.”
