Lookman and Super Eagles
The Atalanta star and his national teammates are in Cote d’Ivoire for the 34th AFCON slated to kick off on Saturday night in Abidjan.
During the team’s dinner, the former Everton man joined his compatriots for a sing-along as they took time off from their hard work in training for the inauguration night.
In a video shared on social media by the Super Eagles account, the 26-year-old introduced himself and the song he was about to perform for his teammates while standing at the table.
Lookman went on to put a spin on the popular Afrobeat track, revealing the team’s focus is firmly on the 2023 AFCON and Nigeria’s quest to win a fourth title at the tournament.
The former England under-21 international put his spin on the Afrobeats song which received approval from his excited teammates.
“Lonely at the top, lonely, lonely, lonely,” he sang. “AFCON on my mind,” the Atalanta man sang, with his teammates chorused “AFCON, AFCON, AFCON.”
Lookman’s teammates were not the only ones impressed with his performance as Nigerians took to the comment section to add their voices.
“Love the confidence! Ready to celebrate with the Super Eagles,” one of them said.
“AFCON on our mind. Go Go Go Super Eagle,” another added.
