Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala wrote her name into NWSL history with a stunning debut strike for Bay FC.
Asisat Oshoala announced her arrival in the National Women's Soccer League in style, scoring a historic and stunning goal for new franchise Bay FC in their inaugural match against Angel City FC.
The Nigeria superstar, who joined BAY as a high-profile free agent after leaving Barcelona, wrote her name into the NWSL record books by netting the club's first-ever goal in their 1-0 season-opening victory.

Oshoala's History-Making Moment
With the match delicately poised at 0-0, Oshoala combined her predatory instincts with a sublime hit to break the deadlock in unforgettable fashion in the 17th minute.
Pouncing on a through ball just inside the Angel City box, the 28-year-old, without taking a touch, produced an unstoppable strike into the top corner to announce her arrival.
It was a goal worthy of such a historic occasion - the first strike in Bay's debut NWSL season and a moment that will forever be etched into the club's folklore.
Thanks to their Nigerian talisman's intervention, the new NWSL franchise announced their arrival as an expansion team in some style.
Oshoala Repaying the Faith
In signing for the club from Barcelona, Oshoala had made clear her desire to help grow the women's game in the United States by taking her talents to the NWSL.
And the former Liverpool and Arsenal striker has immediately repaid the faith shown in her marquee acquisition with a goal that will be replayed for years to come.
With her movement and ruthless finishing ability, Oshoala looks likely to be a hugely impactful signing for Bay FC in their inaugural NWSL campaign.
If her debut heroics are a sign of things to come, neutrals and Bay fans alike can look forward to witnessing Oshoala deliver many more memorable moments in front of goal.
