Tottenham accepted a bid from Bayern Munich for Kane on Thursday, leaving the England captain with a difficult decision to make as regards his immediate future.
This news was relayed to Guardiola at a press conference to mark the start of the Premier League season, and the Cityzens gaffer reacted with a hilariously shocked expression at the thought of Kane joining the Bavarians, asking a Manchester City staff member if the transfer was official.
Guardiola is known to be a long-time admirer of Kane, and Manchester City had been keen on the Englishman joining before opting to sign Erling Haaland after failing to see eye-to-eye on a price for the forward with Tottenham.
Tottenham forced to wait on Kane decision
With the Premier League set to resume for the 2023/24 season, starting with Friday’s match between Manchester City and Burnley, there are still doubts as to whether Kane will be a part of the campaign.
