The outcomes of the first leg of the preliminary round match will determine whether the Venoms can reach the penultimate round before the group stages subsequently.
Ahead of their 2023/24 CAF Champions League edition opener, Vipers SC take on Botswana outfit Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday at the Lobatse Sports Complex.
The outcomes of the first leg of the preliminary round match will determine whether the Venoms can reach the penultimate round before the group stages subsequently.
"Nothing can stop us," Vipers president Lawrence Mulindwa said while addressing the players before setting off for Botswana.
"Play with purpose, with intention, and once we do that, I'm telling you, there's nothing that can stop us from achieving our targets," Mulindwa reiterated at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
Vipers made the group stages last season but stayed bottom behind Horoya AC, Simba SC and Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.
However, this time round, they feel they can better that feat; "we are motivated and sure we can achieve," said team captain Milton Karisa in the final message before departure.
"We want to promise you nothing but the best, we're going fight and die for the team, and we're going to come back victorious," Karisa vowed to the celebrated educationist.
Should Vipers get passed Jwaneng Galaxy, one of Comoros' Djabal FC or South Africa's Orlando Pirates await before the groups.
