The Tanzanian giants did not hesitate to take a dig at their bitter rivals as they snapped up one of their long-serving players on Wednesday.
Tanzania champions Yanga SC had one of the most memorable player unveilings when they announced the signing of former Simba SC midfielder Jonas Mkude on Wednesday.
Mkude left Simba after 13 years with Wekundu wa Msimbazi and was among a host of long-serving players who were released at the end of their contracts last month.

In a clip posted on social media, Mkude is seen wearing the green and yellow of Yanga, holding a ball as he walks onto the pitch after which he meets a lion (Simba) who approaches him in anger as if to attack him.

Mkude began his football career at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of Simba’s youth academy.
He made his debut for the senior team in 2010 and soon became an integral part of the squad. His performances caught the attention of both fans and scouts and he established himself as one of the key players for Simba.
