Ndidi on Finidi’s appointment
Ndidi has given the Nigeria Football Federation credit for selecting the coach born in Rivers State to lead the Super Eagles in the AFCON and World Cup qualifying matches.
According to reports from Completesports, Ndidi said, “Finidi is an amazing coach, we worked with him in our two friendly games in Morocco and he impressed us with the way he executed the two games against Ghana and Mali without any assistant coaches, just him and his other officials.
“It is not easy for one man to do all that. We are good to go with him. He is humble and amazing. I think I will say congratulations and see what happens in the future.”
Ndidi says he and his Super Eagles teammates are focused on the important games against South Africa and the Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month.
They also know the team is not in a good position in the African qualifiers Group C table and that they must make every effort to move up from their current third-place position behind South Africa and Rwanda.
He continued, “We know how important those two games are to us and we won’t allow it to slip away. It will be tough games, not easy ones but we shall see to it that we do not slip again.”
Meanwhile, Ndidi just won the Championship and secured a Premier League promotion with his team Leicester City.
