Kitara maintains its grip of the StarTimes FUFA Big League lead with 51 points, one above Nec in second while Mbarara City follow with 48.

The winner of the StarTimes FUFA Big League and twp other teams to be promoted will be decided in less than a month’s time.

The race is tighter but Kitara and NEC with 51 and 50 points, respectively are heads and shoulders above the rest and may need three wins from the remaining games to confirm their promotion.

NEC head coach Micheal Lukyamuzi admits that his team is feeling the pressure but has urged his boys to stay calm and maintain focus.

“The situation is very tricky right now,” Lukyamuzi admits.

“It’s tight and we can feel it even in the blood,” he says.

“Everyone in the dressing room is feeling it and know that we must work harder than we have done in the past 26 games. It’s a very delicate but crucial moment that we are in right now. The promotion will be decided in the last game so we have to be at our best in all the remaining games,” he sums it up.

NEC travel to Jinja North next week, then host Lugazi and Kyetume before travelling to Kataka for the final game of the season. Assuming Mbarara City and Police win their remaining games, Kitara will need three wins to earn their badge.
