On his homecoming at BUL FC at the FUFA Technical Center, on Tuesday, Alex Isabirye and his new team Vipers SC will not expect a warm reception.
Isabirye left the Jinja side earlier this year to join the Venoms, and he's at the moment leading the hunt for the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League title.
Vipers lead the standings courtesy of a superior goal difference as they have 49 points, which is the same tally as runners-up KCCA FC and the third-placed SC Villa.
"Vipers is a big team that is fighting for the trophy, but we are also improving so we expect to put up the best performance such that we get the results we want," said BUL deputy head coach Dan Kabale.
"Regardless (whether) he (Isabirye/Vipers) is fighting for the trophy, we don't want to know, we want to win the game tomorrow," Kabale rumbled.
Despite the hard talk from the Oil Manufacturers, they haven't won a single game in the second round of the league.
They've lost five times and drawn on seven occasions, including failing to score in each of their previous three games, but, Kabale is positive they'll turn the fortunes around.
"We have not won a single game in the second half (round) but there has been improvement and we hope to get results tomorrow."
"We have had a problem of scoring goals so we have tried our level best to make sure that we score, we hope for the best tomorrow," he summed.
Tomorrow will make it 19 league meetings between the pair since the 2012/13 campaign and it's the Venoms that have dominated proceedings.
The latter have accumulated 13 victories, suffered just two losses while four ties have ended in shared spoils.
Milton Karisa and Cromwel Rwothomio scored a goal each in the first round as it ended 2-1 at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
Karim Ndugwa, who has since, ironically left for Vipers scored BUL's consolation in the defeat.
