The 23-year-old was on duty with the Super Eagles during their last international break, in which he failed to perform again, extending his scoreless run for Nigeria to nine games.

What Alonso said
Speaking ahead of their cup clash against Bayern Munich tomorrow, the coach of the champions was asked about the Nigerian striker’s health, and he explained that they are optimistic as his recovery is going according to plan.
“We have hope. Every two or three days, tests are carried out to see how he is doing. He is on the right track, but it is too early to say when he will be back,” Alonso told reporters, per Liga insider.
