Former Kenyan defender Tobias Ocholla is not impressed by the record of Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat and feels he should be sacked over poor performances.
Gor Mahia legend Tobias Ocholla believes Kenya is reaping the fruits of hiring a "cheap coach" following Harambee Stars' 2-0 defeat to South Sudan in an Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier last weekend.
South Sudan, considered the youngest team on the continent, inflicted Harambee Stars with the tough-to-take defeat after second half goals from Ezbon Maalesh and Johannes Folino at the Juba national stadium.

'Put the house in order' - Former Harambee Stars player urges FKF to sack Engin Firat after South Sudan defeat
The 38-year-old spent 12 years donning the Harambee Stars jersey prior to retirement in 2019.
Ocholla, a former full-back for both K'Ogalo and Harambee Stars, is urging the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to cut their losses with the Turkish gaffer and should conduct a thorough background check before hiring a coach.
“We are getting what we deserve as we hired a cheap coach. If you hire a good coach with a track record, then you can demand results," Ocholla told SportsBoom.

Former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael on what the current crop of Harambee Stars players lack
Eymael, who helped AFC Leopards win the FKF Cup in 2013, has revealed what the current Harambee Stars squad lacks compared to 10 years ago.
In his 23 months with Kenya across the two spells, Firat has taken charge of 21 matches, winning seven, drawing five while losing nine. The damning statstics is the reason Kenyans are demanding more. Crucially, of the 21, Firat has guided Kenya to 13 competitive matches and his record does not bode well.
"FKF should take the issue of employing national team coaches seriously by doing a thorough background search, and following the hiring process to the letter," Ocholla, who boast of more than 25 caps for Harambee Stars, added.
Harambee Stars are set to face South Sudan in the return leg on Sunday, November 3, in Kampala, Uganda. The team will be hoping to redeem themselves by winning the match as any result other than victory for Stars will ramp up the pressure on Firat.
