A poor start to the 2023 NPFL season have seen Wikki Tourists pick up just one point from a possible 15, sit at the bottom of Group B after five matches, and lose their coach.
Wikki Tourists captain Mohammed Idris Guda has stated that his side will need to amend their playing style, as well as utilize their chances for the teams to start performing at the highest level this season.
The Bauchi club have so far, suffered a terrible start to the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, losing four of their five matches, as well as losing their coach Kabiru Dogo.
The poor start which have seen them pick up just one point - from a goalless draw with Doma United - from a possible 15, sees them sit at the bottom of Group B, after five matches.
The most recent game at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, saw them fall to a 2-0 defeat to defending champions Rivers United, although under controversial circumstances.
Guda says Wikki Tourists need to improve
Reacting after the game, and lamenting that his side had been treated unfairly, Guda stated that despite whatever might have occurred in their defeat, his side had work to do.
"We're in a bad position, really. All we would do is to go back to amend our mistakes so that we can bounce back," the Wikki Tourists captain said to Pulse Sports after the game.

When asked what the Bauchi club needed to work on, Guda responded: "We need to utilize some of our chances and start playing together. If we do that, I think our games will start going the way we want them to be."
Wikki to face struggling Rangers next
Game week six in Group will see the Guda and his teammates, play hosts to seven-time Nigerian champions Rangers International, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, in Bauchi, on Sunday.
Rangers, who had been suffering similar fate with Wikki Tourists, only got their season rolling on Wedensday, after a 28th-minute strike by Hadi Mohammed helped them secure their first win of the season, following two earlier draws, and two defeats.
In two of their last three home meetings with Rangers, Wikki Tourist failed to pick up all three points, sharing the spoils in 2022 (0-0), and in 2019 (1-1). They however, defeat Rangers 2-1 in 2021.
