Calvary head coach Dudu Bosco revealed that his players went for the Police match in the StarTimes FUFA Big League on empty stomachs.

The Yumbe District side was hammered 4-0 on Thursday in an early kickoff despite Police playing over 50 minutes with a man less.

Hassan Kikoyo, Reagan male, Abdul Nsereko and Tonny Kiwalazi found the net in a result that temporarily propelled Police to the top as the leading pack opened an eight-point gap with Calvary in fifth.

Dudu pointed to seemingly internal financial problems that might be hampering the team.

“There were so many factors against us,” Dudu explained after the thumping. “we couldn’t play well because the boys played without having lunch which was very terrible.

Dudu says that the situation was terrible and could not force his players to push despite boasting the numerical advantage from the 43rd minute when Police’s custodian Davis Mutebi was sent off.

“We saw that despite having the numbers in the second half, our boys were weak and couldn’t match the opponent. We arrived in time but due to other factors, the boys didn’t eat,” he bemoaned further.

The result left Calvary 5th with 27 points as the chasing pack expanded their lead.
