All eyes will be on Friday night’s clash between KCCA and defending champions Vipers at St. Mary's, Kitende.

KCCA FC head coach Jackson Mayanja has promised that his side will play the game of their lives against Vipers on Friday.

The Kasasiro Boys will visit St. Mary’s Kitende on Friday in a game that could potentially decide the title destination at the end of the season.

And this will come on the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw with Onduparaka for KCCA. The Lugogo-based outfit squandered a two-goal lead to drop points at home and miss out on going top of the log.

“We have to move on. We are going to Kitende, and we have to pull out something from there,” Mayanja said after the game.

“Villa, after losing 4-1, nobody believed they could come out and beat Vipers.

“I think we are going to have a game of our life in Kitende. We need to come back.”

KCCA scored through Moses Waiswa and Allan Okello and looked destined for all three points and top of the division.

But two late goals from Emmanuel Okech halted KCCA’s journey back to the top, making the away trip to Kitende even more critical for Mayanja, who insists that the title is there for the taking.

Players didn’t do enough

The tactician found it hard to explain how a team that was running away with the game ended up settling for a point.

“Nothing much; this is the game. I know football in Uganda has so many things these days,” Mayanja laboured to point out what exactly went wrong.

“I have nothing to say, but I think there are many things in Ugandan football today.

“Such a team like Onduparaka, we dominated it so much, we dominated the game but four minutes, two goals, that’s something not normal. But that is the life of football.”

The former KCCA player had emphasized the need to rotate his squad in a bid to keep it fresh for the remainder of the season and rang changes that destabilized the structure of the game.

He revealed that players needed to do more to get over the line and take all three points.

“I don’t think they did enough, especially those who came on.

“I thought they could come in and try to push more with fresh legs.”

The draw ended Mayanja’s winning start at the club following a 4-1 demolition of Villa and a slim 1-0 win over Gaddafi.

All eyes will now be on Friday night’s clash with the defending champions as the two sides tussle for the title.

Villa still tops the log with 46 points and can stretch their lead by avoiding defeat against the Maroons on Wednesday.

Vipers, meanwhile, defeated Gaddafi 2-0 to move to 42 points, three behind second-placed KCCA and with a game in hand.
