AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha has revealed he will be surprised if Shabana get relegated at the end of the season after giving his charges a torrid time despite beating them 1-0 in the FKF Cup round of 16 on Sunday.
Leopards needed a Kaycie Odhiambo goal in the second half to give them the win and set them up against Compel in the quarter finals as they seek for a route into next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Speaking to the media after the match, Trucha was quick to praise Sammy Omollo Pamzo and his team, describing them as a formidable outfit capable of upsetting teams with confidence injected in them.

“We respect the opponent because they are a good team, they have a good coach band they are coming up. I will be surprised if they are relegated,” Trucha said after the match.
Reflecting on the game, Trucha emphasized the challenge his team faced against Shabana, stressing the importance of maintaining a clean sheet while waiting for scoring opportunities.
“We were expecting a difficult game. I told my guys to try and keep a clean sheet as long as possible and the chances would come,” Trucha revealed regarding his pre-match instructions to his players.
Despite securing the victory, Trucha acknowledged that his team could have been more clinical in front of goal, especially in the first half.
