Rachier has revealed how he reassured Benson Omala after his proposed move to Algerian outfit JS Saoura collapsed.
Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has admitted he had to reassure Benson Omala himself after his proposed move to Algerian outfit JS Saoura recently collapsed.
Last week, the forward experienced profound disappointment as his anticipated transfer to Algerian club JS Saoura collapsed, despite all parties involved having initially agreed on the deal.
According to the documents available, the deal was set to bring substantial gains to Omala, including a substantial monetary sum, a car, generous allowances, among other perks.
Additionally, Gor Mahia, his current club, was poised to benefit financially from the six-month loan deal, with Saoura committing to a three-million payment.

STARS ABROAD Kenyan winger fails to help FC Koln get all three points against Hoffenheim
Maina came on as a 58th minute substitute but could not help Koln hold on to their lead at Hoffenheim.
Unfortunately, the transfer encountered unforeseen obstacles, leaving Omala in a state of distress as he grappled with the sudden turn of events. Gor Mahia had already bid him farewell, and it appeared that Omala was mentally prepared to embrace the new challenge that awaited him.
Now, Rachier has revealed that he spoke to him privately to console and reassure the two-cap Kenyan international.
“Yes, I have spoken to him, not one on one but at least on the phone to calm him down because he had already made up his mind that he wanted to leave,” Rachier told Citizen TV.
“Some counseling has been done by both the coach and ourselves, the days he was given off was part of the recovery process in terms of ‘How do we bring him back mentally to the team’?”
Rachier has further revealed that the reason he started on the bench during their recent weekend clash with Ulinzi Stars at the Machakos Stadium was precisely for that reason.
“You will see that even in the starting line up, first half, Chris Ochieng played in his place and in the second half he was introduced just as part of a recovery process to make him forget about the deal gone sour.

STARS ABROAD Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma suffers defeat on his Polish league debut for Rakow Czestochowa
The Harambee Stars defender played all 90 minutes of his league debut for the Polish champions but could not help them avoid defeat away to Warta Poznan
“Every person who has been involved in the running of football will agree that this is a new phenomenon. These FIFA cases are recent happenings that we attribute to COVID.”
Meanwhile Rachier has defended why the club were in financial turmoil and struggling to compete between 2020 and 2023, as well as the reason they were stripped off their CAF Champions League license by Football Kenya Federation after a couple of players had taken the club to the continental body for failing to complete payments.
“During the COVID period, people are forgetting that the contracts remained valid and there was nil football and nil sponsorships, that means, lack of money.
“It was nothing to do with running of an office, or negligence or breach of contract, when you have a liability such as that of paying salaries and you have no income.
