Young Africans and DR Congo forward Fiston Kalala Mayele, considered one of the hottest properties on the African continent, is one of the players many are looking at to see if he will stay in Tanzania or make a move.

The football seasons are done, and players are holidaying around the globe as they re-energize to get back to action for their respective clubs.

Young Africans and DR Congo forward Fiston Kalala Mayele, considered one of the hottest properties on the African continent, is one of the players many are looking at to see if he will stay in Tanzania or make a move.

Top Scorer

Mayele joined Young Africans in 2021, and he hit top form immediately, scoring 16 league goals in his first campaign in the Tanzania Premier League, but he wasn’t done yet.

The ‘predator’ took it a notch higher the following season, guiding Nabi Nasreddine’s side to the CAF Confederation Cup final, scoring seven goals.

Back home on the domestic front, it wasn’t any different, scoring 17 league goals, tying with Simba’s Saido Ntibazonkiza.

Where Next?

Young Africans have made it known that their goal machine has an extra year left on his current contract but have welcomed interested clubs for discussions.

One of Mayele’s confidants, who preferred anonymity, revealed that the forward is interested in a move to Saudi Arabia but is taking his time as he weighs different options.

“Fiston might just move to Saudi Arabia; he feels he has really achieved a lot in Tanzania and wants to challenge himself more. Also, the money he is being offered is crazy,” the source told Pulse Sports.

‘Tiimu ya Wananichi’ will have to work around beefing up their frontline ahead of next season as they target to reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Young Africans have a new coach, Miguel Angel Gamondi; the Argentine has his work cut out to try and guide the green and yellow to a third domestic treble.
