The Uganda Hippos forward ended his 15-year stay with boyhood club Proline FC after penning a two-year deal with the Red Eagles.

Alpha Ssali has got many talking after he sealed his move to traditional giants Express FC on Monday.

The Uganda Hippos forward ended his 15-year stay with boyhood club Proline FC after penning a two-year deal with the Red Eagles.

Ssali, 19, says he was approached by several top Uganda Premier League sides, including KCCA FC, where his grandfather Mr Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, was once club head coach but chose Express FC.

"Many top UPL clubs approached me, but I chose Express FC because they are willing to give me time to become a better player," Ssali told Pulse Sports.

"I also have many friends who played at the club and advised me that it was the right decision."

"I know what it means to wear the Express FC shirt, and I am ready to give everything; I have also set personal goals ahead of the season," he added.

The former Proline FC forward has been out of action for a while nursing an injury, but he is now back to full fitness and was part of the players that reported for preseason with the Red Eagles on Monday.

Alpha Ssali is the son of renowned music artiste Moses Ssali alias Bebecool, who recently maintained that the former would only feature for top European sides.

However, the long injury layoff has changed Bebecool's mind.

The seven-time league champions finished 10th last season, and Alpha Ssali will be tasked with helping James Odoch's side earn a better place finish in the upcoming campaign.
