KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has moved separate ways with his paymasters following indifferent results in the Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
While the spark was in the Cup exit at the hands of Soltilo Bright Stars FC on Sunday, pressure had been mounting with various people calling for his sacking.
Byekwaso, who leaves just over a year and a half into his contract, has cited deliberate refusal for his players to respect his commands and indiscipline as the biggest reasons for his resignation.
"I have taken my decision to resign because there was too much player power in the team," Byekwaso revealed to the media after KCCA's 1-0 defeat.
"I can not go on facing such (situations) because when we train it's well, we give players roles, but they don't respect these roles," he added, feeling betrayed.
The frustrated tactician was visibly angry as Simon Kankonde missed a second-half penalty that should have halved matters.
The Congolese also missed a penalty earlier in the season against Maroons FC, and Byekwaso is bitter that the player insists on taking them when it's not his designated duty.
"We have told Kankonde not to take the penalties, but he always argues with our experts who should be taking them," he noted.
"These things bring disorganisation, which we face because of indiscipline."
Byekwaso added that he decided as the club still has much to fight for in the season.
"I can not go on, there are a lot of good things for the club to achieve, including the league, and this is the right time to give a chance to another person to take over."
At the time of his departure, KCCA sit second with 36 points, four behind leaders SC Villa who have played two games more.
