The disappointed players feel let down by the K’Ogalo hierarchy after it failed to honour its obligations
Gor Mahia players have expressed their disappointment at missing out on CAF Champions League action following the club’s expulsion from the competition due to their inability to pay money owed to former players on time.
CAF conducted the Champions League draw on Tuesday but the Kenyan champions, Gor Mahia were not part of the teams, having seen their club license revoked under Article 16 8(b) of the CAF Club licensing regulations for “violating its obligation” in paying former players on time.

FOOTBALL ‘I feel sorry for Gor Mahia’ - AFC Leopards coach explains what saddens him about Kenyan champions
The newly-appointed Ingwe tactician feels it will be hard for K’Ogalo to go again after the latest development.
The development arose after the club failed to settle the dues of three of its former players, namely Adama Keita, Jules Ulimwengu, and Sando Yangayay, the latter who took the matter to CAF after the club failed to honour its agreement.
It is a development that has left Gor players displeased and demoralized and feel the club should have at least told the players on time to avoid the last-minute heartache.
“The office needs to apologise to the players. The players did their part and now it was up to them to also do their part but we don’t know what happened,” Gor forward George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo told Pulse Sports.

Odhiambo’s sentiments were shared by goalkeeper Gad Mathews, who was one of the club’s outstanding performers last season, keeping 17 clean sheets to share the Golden Glove Award with Humphrey Katasi of Nzoia Sugar.
“It is paining that what we were fighting for will unfortunately not happen. It is very demoralising. It was everyone’s dream to play continental football because that is how you get an opportunity to market yourself out there as a player,” Mathews weighed in.
