Ghana's Black Stars and Nigeria's Super Eagles will reignite their regional rivalry in Morocco later this month.
The Ghana Football Association has explained its move to reappoint Otto Addo as the new permanent head coach of the Black Stars after an extensive two-month search.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Addo, 48, led Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as interim boss before departing after the tournament in December.

Ghana gets new boss for Super Eagles
After the Black Stars' hugely disappointing group stage exit at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach has been lured back to the national team setup.
GFA president Kurt Okraku confirmed Addo's return and offered insight into why the highly-rated manager has returned to the Black Stars as the main man.

"Otto was exceptional in the interview process and was rated highly by the search committee, hence the decision," Okraku stated per Ghana-based Ghanasoccer.
"There were some brilliant individuals among the coaches who applied for the job, so the committee took the pain to interview a chunk of them."

Okraku added: "The Committee was overly satisfied with Otto's performance for which reason he was recommended to the Executive Council for approval."
It marks a rapid return to the Ghana hot seat for Addo, who has unfinished business after the Black Stars' group stage elimination in Qatar despite beating South Korea.

The former Ghana international faces the sizeable task of rejuvenating the four-time African champions following their shambolic AFCON campaign.
Expectations will be high for Addo to not only steer Ghana to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, but build a side capable of making an impression at the next World Cup in North America.

With Addo's inside knowledge of the Ghana setup and player pool, he was viewed as the prime candidate to hit the ground running.
The hard work starts now for the new coach as he bids to restore pride in Ghana's underachieving Black Stars starting with a mouthwatering clash against rivals Nigeria.
Ghana and Nigeria’s Super Eagles meet later this month in a not-too-friendly match slated for Morocco.
