Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has responded to receiving criticism for shouting at teenager Lamine Yamal and snubbing the 16-year-old during Sunday's win over Alaves.
Lewandowski was upset at Yamal during Sunday's 2-1 win over Alaves and could not hide his frustration after the winger refused to play a pass, electing to shoot instead.
Yamal then went over to Lewandowski offering a hand but the former Bayern Munich man appeared to blank the teenager completely.
The incident sparked mixed media reaction, with some suggesting the 35-year-old should do better as a mentor, while others believe the teenager deserved it for selfish play.
Lewandowski responds to Yamal incident
Lewandowski, who scored both goals in the 2-1 Barcelona win, has responded.
"Did I ignore Yamal? There is nothing to comment on really because it was a total accident.
"Sometimes I shout during a match, but that's normal," he insisted when addressing reporters.
Lewandowski will now join up with Poland for heir matches against Czechia and Latvia.
