Kakamega Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo has explained why he will not be looking for further reinforcements during the midseason transfer window
Kakamega Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo does not believe his team needs a lot of strengthening during the midseason transfer window.
Homeboyz have been on a good run recently with Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Ulinzi Stars their third straight win which left them fourth on the table on 21 points, four behind leaders Posta Rangers.
With four matches to go before the first leg concludes, many teams are already looking at the areas they want to beef up and identifying targets but Odhiambo appears satisfied with what he has.

FKFPL Oscar Paul the hero as Kakamega Homeboyz dramatically disarm Ulinzi Stars
Oscar Paul's goal in the dying minutes of the match was enough to give Kakamega Homeboyz all the three points at Ulinzi Stars' expense.
“Our recent good run is a collective responsibility from the team and the management,” Odhiambo told Pulse Sports.
“We are hungry and want to win every match. Going into the midseason transfer window, we are okay. We have many players and others have not even been playing.”
Homeboyz signed eight new players heading into this season with Francis Omondi (Ulinzi Stars), Yusuf Mohammed, (Muhoroni Youth), Farouk Musisi (FC Hosilot, Tajikistan), James Cleo Ssetuba (Ihefu, Tanzania), Oscar Adam Paul (Tanzania Prisons), Davis Kasirye (Sofapaka), Alex Imbusia (Sofapaka) and Mwinyi Shami (Tusker) the new arrivals after releasing six.

FOOTBALL Kakamega Homeboyz boss responds to Robinson Kamura’s exit
Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has spoken about the contract situation of experienced defender Robinson Kamura whose deal has expired
That was after bringing in five in March during the midseason transfer window of the 2022-23 campaign which perhaps explains why Odhiambo does not think there will be need for further reinforcements. Defender Robinson Kamura, however, left the club following the conclusion of his contract last week.
Meanwhile, Odhiambo has showered praise on striker Moses Shummah who was recently called to the national team although he did not make it to the final squad for Harambee Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles.
“He is a young striker and growing every day. The national team call-up is giving him confidence which is good for a player his age,” said Odhiambo.

FOOTBALL Gor Mahia receive seven figure donation from patron Raila Odinga after victory over Muhoroni in Homa Bay
The former Prime Minister was among those who turned out at the Raila Odinga Stadium to witness Gor Mahia’s win over Muhoroni Youth and he gifted K’Ogalo for the historic victory
Shummah received his first national team call-up in June during the four-nations tournament when he scored his debut goal as Kenya beat Pakistan 1-0 and was in the squad for their next four games against Mauritius, Qatar, South Sudan and Russia which points to the faith coach Engin Firat has in the youngster.
Homeboyz have matches against Bidco United, Shabana, AFC Leopards and Nairobi City Stars before the first leg concludes.
