Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed newly signed striker Erick Kenzo Kambale and defender Hilary Mukundane will sit out their game with Mbarara City FC on Tuesday.

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed newly signed striker Erick Kenzo Kambale and defender Hilary Mukundane will sit out their game with Mbarara City FC on Tuesday.

Kambale is out due to a lack of fitness, having only joined Vipers last week following his release from Sudan's El-Merriekh.

"Having been out of action for some time, Kambale still needs some fitness work, but he’s in a positive trend – he’s getting better and better," the team confirmed in a statement.

"He will be available for the game against SC Villa on October 20 at St Mary’s Stadium."

Meanwhile, Mukundane is out with an injury that has kept him out for the past three weeks.

"Hilary Mukundane felt discomfort in our game against Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Botswana on August 21. Further assessments and scans have confirmed that Mukundane damaged his Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL)."

"A specialist consultation took place, and as a result of further discussions with Mukundane and our medical team, it was decided that Mukundane rest for four weeks as other assessments are being carried out," Vipers added.

The club has also confirmed the newly signed duo of Allan Okello and Ghanaian Awisone Fumador are all out through respective injuries.

While Okello is suffering from a knee injury, Fumador is suffering from Strain and has been out of action for three weeks.

The Venoms take on the Ankole Lions in their third Uganda Premier League of the season, hoping to make it three victories on the bounce.
