Vipers SC skipper Milton Karisa was a no show as the team made an early return for preseason on Monday in preparation for the forthcoming campaign.
The Uganda Premier League champions will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League for a second season running, and thus need stout preparations.
Karisa will however not be expected to return this week as he has been granted an extended holiday for his previous engagements with the national team.
The winger played 60 minutes for the Uganda Cranes as the side lost 2-1 in the qualifiers of the Africa Cup of Nations over a week ago, hence an extended vacation.
Karisa had three days prior featured for the Cranes in their 1-0 loss to the Democratic Republic of Congo, in an international friendly.

As he enjoys a well earned time off football, Karisa was on Sunday pictured at a church in Bweyogerere, as he testified to God for last season's success.
Besides the league, the Venoms won the Uganda Cup, their third in history having edged Police FC 1-0, a goal scored by Karisa.
Among the other faces not seen as the rest returned for preseason included Fabien Mutombora, Siraje Ssentamu, Hillary Mukundane, Abubakar Lawal, Desire Tety and Alfred Mudekereza.
