It is the second time Revita has had to face the knife while at KCCA, having had his first surgery in 2020.
KCCA FC announced on Friday that defender John Revita had signed a new one-year contract with an option to extend it for a further year.
At the same time, the club announced that the player had undergone a successful surgery following an injury that tore the Anterior Cruciate Ligament of his right knee last season.
The news of handing a new contract to an injured player has since divided opinion in football circles, but the club, according to CEO Anisha Muhoozi, had every reason to keep the Uganda Cranes defender at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

FOOTBALL Injured KCCA centre back signs new contract after surgery
The news comes after the Uganda Cranes player underwent surgery to work on his torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament of his right knee.
“Revita is a player who fits in the club’s philosophy, and the contract renewal is to enable him recover while having peace of mind that he is still in the club’s plans,” Muhoozi told Pulse Sports in an exclusive interview.
“The player got injured while on the field of play, and as a club, it is our obligation to treat him,” she added.

FOOTBALL Uganda Premier League: First 10 fixtures you cannot afford to miss
Rogers Mato's sole goal won it for the Kasasiro Boys last season, but it was Milton Karisa's late strike in the second-round fixture that pretty much handed Vipers the title.
He is now expected to be out for up to nine months, and that will see him miss the new Startimes Uganda Premier League season that kicks off next month.
“Initially, we had opted for conservative treatment, which involves rehabilitation without surgical intervention, but upon evaluation after the due time, it was noted that it was not a successful option and surgery was the last resort,” Muhoozi said.
With new head coach Sergio Traguil a big advocate for possession-based football that starts with building from the back, Revita is a perfect fit in the team.

As they reached the Botswana capital, the Venoms looked neat, clean and intelligent, clad in their uniform red tops as well as black track shorts and long pants.
The former Express FC captain is easy on the eye with his ability to play out from the back.
But the new tactician will have to wait a little longer before Revita returns to full fitness.
