German-born Nigerian duo, Winners Osakwe and David Odogu were in fine form as Germany’s under-17 overcame Argentina in a thrilling semifinal encounter.
Both defensive players were on from start to finish as Germany defeated Argentina 4-2 on penalties after the game ended 3-3 on Tuesday in Indonesia.

Osakwe and Odogu shine for Germany
In what was a thrilling six-goal encounter, Odogu and his compatriot were in fine shape for the Europeans.
Germany took the lead three times but Argentina came back three times to force the game into penalties.
Germany eventually after the South Americans missed two of their spot kicks in the shootout.
The defensive midfielder, Osakwe, won eight of 11 duels, four tackles, two interceptions and made a key pass. His compatriot, Odogu, won five of seven duels attempted and completed four of seven attempted long passes from his centre-back position.
More About the duo in the U17WC
In terms of their game time so far in the U17, while Osakwe, who plays for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, has featured in two matches, his teammate Odogu, from VFL Wolfsburg, has been a constant feature for the team.
The 17-year-old has started and completed all matches so far in the U17WC in Indonesia.
Both highly-rated stars are eligible for Nigeria despite representing Germany at youth level.
Nigeria will be hoping that Osakwe, who turns 18 today, and Odogu, will in future follow in the footsteps of Maduka Okoye and Jordan Torunarigha to switch allegiance to the Super Eagles.
But for now, the youngsters will focus on the final against fellow Europeans, France, who defeated Mali in the second semi-final, on Saturday.
