Timu ya Wananchi have finally deiced to sell Fei Toto to rivals Azam FC following the President’s request for a quick resolution on Monday
Tanzania giants Yanga have headed to the call of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and reached solution over the transfer saga of wantaway midfielder Feisal Salum also known as Fei Toto.
This is after Yanga announced on Thursday that they have agreed to sell Feisal to league rivals Azam FC for an undisclosed fee, coming three days after the President had ordered the club hierarchy to quickly end the sage and give her the answer once done.
“The Yanga leadership would like to inform the public that it has received an offer from Azam FC to sign Feisal Salum. After talks from both sides and regarding contractual terms between the club and player, the club has decided to sell Feisal Salum to Azam FC,” the club said via a statement.
“Feisal Salum has been sold to Azam for an undisclosed fee. Feisal will join his new team once he agrees personal terms when the transfer window opens. Yanga wishes Feisal all the best at his new club.”
Feisal has not featured for the club since December 2022 over a transfer battle between money bags Azam and Yanga, having been frozen out of the squad over a legal battle between the two clubs regarding his future.
According to reports in Tanzania media, Feisal was supposed to buy out his remaining contract at the tune of Tsh100m (Ksh586,534) then join Azam as a free agent but Yanga declined the proposal and the player’s representatives took the matter to the Tanzanian FA.
With the issue remaining unresolved, the midfielder has been out of the team and even vowed not to turn out for Timu ya Wananchi as long as club president Hersi Said is still in charge.
The transfer saga would then reach the highest office on the land and while hosting Yanga after their second-place finish at the CAF Confederation Cup on Monday, Suluhu ordered the club to find a quick solution to the issue and report to her soon.
“Now before we finish, I have a request to you the cub leadership. You have requested a number of things from me and I now have a request for you,” Suluhu said.
“I am not happy to hear that you have problems with players. I don’t want to say much but I want to let you know that you have to find a solution to the issue of Fei Toto.
“End the saga so that we look forward. It does not look good if a big club that is performing well like this is having issues with a player, please end it well. I will wait for a response on this. The day you are ready, come back and give me the answer.”
Suluhu’s order once again highlights how well the Tanzanian top leadership is in tune with the happenings among its top clubs unlike some of their rivals in the region.
