Yanga fans unite for a historic celebration, feasting on victory after their recent win over Simba.

Yanga SC fans came together on a joyous Sunday morning, gathering at the club's headquarters in Dar es Salaam to celebrate their team's resounding 5-1 triumph over arch-rivals Simba in the Tanzania Premier League.

The clash took place last Sunday and witnessed an outpouring of support from Yanga enthusiasts, who went the extra mile by generously donating five cows to the club, which were ceremoniously slaughtered to mark this momentous occasion.

Thousands of devoted fans congregated for the special event, aptly named "Supu Day," indulging in a delectable feast of Chapati and succulent meat stew.

"Fans have come here with five Chapatis each  as accompaniments for the beef stew. Fans from all walks of life have converged here," remarked Yanga spokesperson Ally Kamwe, encapsulating the palpable spirit of unity and celebration.

Last Sunday clash kicked off with a bang, as Zambian international Kennedy Musonda made his mark within just three minutes, scoring a sensational header from a pinpoint Kouassi Yao cross to give Timu ya Wananchi the early advantage.

Nonetheless, Simba was quick to respond, with Denis Kibu equalizing a mere six minutes later, showcasing his heading prowess by netting a goal from Saidi Ntibazonkiza's outswing corner kick.

As the halftime whistle blew, the scoreboard remained deadlocked at 1-1. However, it was in the second half that Yanga emerged as a force to be reckoned with.

The turning point occurred in the 64th minute when DR Congo international Maxi Mpia Nzengeli skillfully slotted the ball into the bottom corner after receiving a sublime through pass from the talented Stephane Aziz Ki.

Nine minutes later, Aziz Ki transitioned from provider to goal scorer, sealing Yanga's dominance with a beautifully executed finish during a lightning-quick Yanga counterattack in the 73rd minute.

Simba appeared to succumb to mounting pressure and nerves, ultimately paying the price when Nzengeli was once again set up for a straightforward tap-in, securing Yanga's fourth goal of the match.

The final blow was delivered by Peodoh Pacome Zouzoua, who confidently converted a penalty awarded to Yanga with just four minutes remaining, cementing Simba's fate and concluding the match in resounding fashion.

As "Supu Day" unfolded, fans reveled in the celebration, savoring the flavors of Chapati and meat stew while basking in the triumph of their beloved team.

With this remarkable victory, Yanga has not only secured bragging rights but has also sent a resounding message to their competitors in the Tanzania Premier League
