Frimpong mocks Arsenal
Leverkusen's 5-0 demolition of Werder Bremen at the BayArena sealed their first-ever Bundesliga title, a remarkable achievement for the club.
But during the celebrations, Frimpong was caught on camera in a conversation with former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka.
"You came from Arsenal and you won it here," Frimpong said, mocking the Gunners' inability to win a league championship.
The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking a wave of reactions from fans and pundits alike.
The timing of Frimpong's jibe could not have been more poignant, as just moments later, Arsenal suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Unai Emery's Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium. T
The loss saw Mikel Arteta's side slip to second in the Premier League table, with Manchester City once again taking control of the title race.
Frimpong's comments are sure to add fuel to the fire to what is surely the most dramatic title race in recent history in the Premier League, with Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool fighting with six games to go.
The youngster, who joined Leverkusen from Celtic in 2021, has firmly established himself as a key figure in the German club's historic triumph.
As Bayer Leverkusen bask in the glory of their first-ever Bundesliga title, Frimpong's cheeky dig at Arsenal is sure to be a talking point for weeks to come.
The Gunners will be eager to respond on the pitch, as they look to bounce back from this latest setback and reignite their title aspirations.
