Nabi Nasreddine’s charges won 1-0 but lost on the away goals rule to USM Alger on Saturday night, and despite the loss, Said says he is proud of his team despite the hurdles the team went through.

Young African President Hersi Said has always spoken his mind, and he did just that after his side narrowly missed out on winning their first-ever interclub title in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Nabi Nasreddine’s charges won 1-0 but lost on the away goals rule to USM Alger on Saturday night, and despite the loss, Said says he is proud of his team despite the hurdles the team went through.

“First, I am proud of my team and the technical team, very proud; they did it for the fans,” Hersi Said noted.

“We experienced a lot of intimidation at the stadium, the bombs, smoke, and the footballs that were thrown on the pitch during the game, but we take it.”

“We go back home having given it everything to reach the final of the CAF Confederation Cup final,” he noted.

Said added: “We informed the CAF President Patrice Motsepe about the incidents, but I don’t want to take the negative part; I take the positive, and I am very proud of my team.

Hersi Said also thanked the President of Tanzania, H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan, who he says was one of the reasons the club reached this far.

“I dedicate this medal to the president; she is the reason why we have come this far; this is for her.”

The squad traveled to Algeria and will return to Tanzania on a chartered flight provided for by Samia Suluhu Hassan.
