STARS ABROAD Young Africans target domestic cup final berth against Singida as Aucho squares off against compatriots

A few hours after touching down from Rustenburg, South Africa, the squad immediately set off for Singida municipality ahead of their Azam Sports Federation Cup semifinal game against Singida Big Stars on Sunday.

They might have retained the league title and reached their maiden CAF Confederations Cup final, but Khalid Aucho's Young Africans still have a mission to accomplish, defending the domestic cup.

A few hours after touching down from Rustenburg, South Africa, the squad immediately set off for Singida municipality ahead of their Azam Sports Federation Cup semifinal game against Singida Big Stars on Sunday.

Khalid Aucho will be up against compatriots at Singida Big Stars in Matia Lule, an assistant coach, Steven Billy Kiggundu, the goalkeeper coach and winger Shafik Batambuze.

This will be the third meeting between both sides this season, with Young Africans having won both meetings, including the 2-0 win two weeks ago.

Nabbi Nasreddine's charges are the domestic cup defending champions, having beaten Coastal Union in post-match penalties having played out a thrilling 3-3 draw after extra time last season.

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho who scored the winning penalty in that game, along with in-form forward Fiston Mayele, will be expected to boost the team in the midfield and forward options.

The winner between the two on Sunday will face Azam FC, who eliminated Simba SC in the semifinals.
