The Jangweni-based outfit has confirmed a special trophy parade dubbed the ‘Treble Parade’, which will traverse three special routes after they beat Azam FC 1-0 to retain the Azam Sports Federation Cup on Monday afternoon in Tanga.

If you thought Young Africans’ league title parade was up there, brace yourselves for an even bigger, exciting parade by the Tanzanian giants on Tuesday as they celebrate their treble.

The ‘Treble Parade’ will not only traverse Karume, Msimbazi (Simba’s stronghold), and Jangweni, where the club offices are located but will also, most importantly, be spiced up by a performance from Tanzanian pop star Diamond Platnumz.

Diamond, a sworn Simba SC fan, recently raised eyebrows when he awarded Young African goalkeeper Djigui Diarra $4200 for his heroics during the CAF Confederation Cup final.

Diarra, named man of the match in the second leg, put up a top performance, including saving a penalty against USM Alger, but it wasn’t enough as Young Africans lost on the away goals rule despite their 1-0 win on the day.

Young Africans kicked off their season with an impressive 2-1 comeback win over rivals Simba SC in the Community Shield courtesy of a Fiston Mayele brace.

They then claimed the league with three games to spare amidst a tough interclub continental campaign where they reached the final.

Retaining the domestic cup was the icing on the cake to have a completely successful season, as was the case in the 2021/2022 season.

In a related development, Head coach Nabi Nasreddine was also named the coach of the season at the end-of-season awards held in Tanga on Monday night.

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho will most certainly have one last joy ride with his club before he links up with the Uganda Cranes in Cameroon ahead of their AFCON 2023 qualifier against Algeria this Sunday at the Japoma stadium.
