Zambia-based defender Dennis Ng'ang'a of Zanaco FC has earned a late call-up to the Kenya national men's football team Harambee Stars.

Ng’ang’a, the former Gor Mahia player comes in to replace Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back Brian Mandela and AIK center-back Collins Sichenje who are reportedly out due to an injury setback.

Ng’ang’a, widely regarded as a good ball player, has been in the form of his life and has enjoyed a stellar start to his career in Zambia and he will be looking to extend the hot streak to the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

Their matches are scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Franceville, and then against Seychelles on Monday, November 20, 2023, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Meanwhile, Ng’ang’a and Erick Kapaito inked a one-year deal with the Zambian giants back in July. They both joined the club as free agents with Ng’ang’a joining the team from Gor Mahia after his contract elapsed.

Renewal talks between the two parties did not yield any fruit, resulting in the separation. He had played for Gor Mahia for two seasons and was crucial to their league triumph in the 2022-23 season.

He started out at Nairobi City Stars before joining Tusker FC and then went on to play for KCB and Wazito FC before landing at Gor Mahia, where he started playing as a central defender. Ng’ang’a and Kapaito were the first Kenyans to play for the Zambian side.
