Global superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is said to have retired from football today following the end of the Serie A season.
The 41-year-old was set to leave Milan at the end of the current season but was linked with a move to Monza, suggesting a continued stay in the profession.
However, after an emotional farewell at the San Siro, the Swedish legend has reportedly called time on his football career.

According to multiple reports surfacing in the last hour, former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided to retire from professional football.
He was in tears as he received an emotional farewell from the crowd at the San Siro this evening, a stadium in which he represented both Milan clubs.
After 25 incredible seasons, in which he spent most of them at the pinnacle of the profession, he is finally prepared to retire from football.

Zlatan's exceptional career
He made his professional debut in the 1998/99 season for his boyhood club and has not looked back since, representing some of the biggest clubs in the world.
He played for the three biggest teams in Italy, Juventus, Inter and AC Milan. He played in the Netherlands for Ajax, in Spain for Barcelona, in France for Paris Saint-Germain, in England for Manchester United, and even in the MLS for the LA Galaxy.
According to TransferMarkt stats, he played 695 games over the course of his career, scoring 440 goals and assisting 203 times.
