Thomas Müller and Lisa Müller have unfollowed each other on Instagram to spark rumours of a divorce.
Rumours of marital troubles between Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller and his wife, Lisa, have resurfaced as the couple have now unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The pair, who have been married for more than 14 years, have long been considered one of football’s power couples, but recent events have sparked concerns about the state of their relationship.
The timing is particularly striking, as these rumours come ahead of a crucial Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Müller, who met Lisa when she was 17, has remained silent on the matter, while his wife has made some pointed remarks.
"I am not an accessory or a handbag for him," the dressage rider was quoted to have told German outlet RTL, addressing the speculation.
The comment has only fuelled more talk about potential issues between the couple, who have faced similar rumours in the past.
Thomas Müller and Lisa Müller's alleged marriage crisis
Back in May, Lisa unfollowed Thomas on Instagram and deleted all their shared photos, which led to a media frenzy before Bayern’s Champions League match against Real Madrid.
Although the couple made a public appearance soon after and seemed to be fine, Lisa’s absence from Thomas’ farewell match with the German national team against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League on October 14 has reignited concerns.
Thomas Müller’s recent solo appearances have done little to quell the rumours.
Notably, the German football legend attended Bayern’s annual Oktoberfest event without Lisa by his side.
Despite this, reports from BILD suggest that the couple spent time together during the international break in mid-October, and Lisa’s name was even spotted on Müller’s boots during a recent training session.
