Adesanya will have a chance at revenge for the fourth time against Pereira in Miami.
New Zealand professional mixed martial artist of Nigerian descent Israel Adesanya is set to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) octagon in April.
Adesanya suffered a loss to Brazilian Alex Pereira back in November 2022 at the Madison Square Garden in New York, United States of America (USA).
In a close fight, Adesanya was stopped in the final round as Pereira produced a barrage of shots to record a knockout victory.
Adesanta lost the UFC Middleweight Championship to Pereira but an immediate rematch has been sanctioned by president Dana White.
Adesanya and Pereira set for Miami
The fight date was already set but there were negotiations ongoing for a venue.
The UFC on Saturday, February 4, 2023, announced that the fight between Sdesanya and Pererir will take place in Miami.
The stage is set for the Miami-Dade Arena in Florida as Adesanya and Pererira will be the main event.
White announced the venue for the fight in a message on the official UF channels.
The message by White said, "On April 8th, UFC 287 the main event is Alex Pereria versus Israel Adesanya in a rematch for the UFC middleweight title.
'The co-main event is Gilbert Burns versus Jorge Masvidal a fight that would be great anywhere.
"But I'm always talking about big destination fights and we are going back to Miami at the Miami-Dade arena."
It will be the first title defense for Pereria who now has defeated Adseanya on three occasions.
Before the victory in the octagon last November, Pereria had defeated Adesanya in two kickboxing events back in 2015 and 2016.
The co-main event at UFC 287 will be the Welterweight battle between Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal.
Other key fights include Welterweight: Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Kevin Holland and Bantamweight: Raul Rosas Jr vs. Christian Rodriguez
Adesanya now has a chance to regain the UFC middleweight title against Pererira in a rematch scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2023.
