Olga Lounová is set to make historic all-women team debut at the East African Safari Classic Rally in Kenya.

As the engines thunder and the trails of the imminent East African Safari Classic Rally become lined with anticipation there is a palpable buzz over the unprecedented entry of a Czech actress Olga Lounova.

With the event's flag set to wave in Vipingo on December 9th, 2023, Lounova, alongside navigator Lilia Khousnoutdinova, is driving full-throttle into history, as they gear up to become the first all-female team with female mechanics in the Kenyan rallying scene.

The 11th edition of the Classic Safari promises a unique blend of nostalgia and modern-day motorsport adventure, spanning a 4,000-km odyssey across Kenya's breathtaking landscapes.

As the rally attracts its highest entry list to date, with more than sixty team poised for action, the Czech team is out to make a statement: gender is no barrier in the pursuit of high-octane glory.

"Unfortunately, due to accommodation and night-rallying limitations, there are only 65 places available. One of its core tenets, safety, is of paramount importance to the Classic Rally, hence the limitation of entrants," reads part of the statement.

Lounova is no stranger to the spotlight, with a career that illuminates stages and screens across the Czech Republic.

But the East African Safari Classic Rally presents a different kind of challenge, one that is measured in timecards, not applause. She, with Khousnoutdinova by her side, will navigate treacherous terrains and battle the elements over nine grueling days, all while maintaining the composure that’s made her a star.

With 11 families on the roster, including father-son duos and sibling teams, the rally embodies a communal spirit, but the inclusion of an all-female team adds a novel dimension to the diversity and inclusivity of the event.

Amidst a fleet that boasts an array of automotive icons, from the Tuthill Porsches to a bevy of Datsun Violets and Ford Escorts, Lounova's entry does not just stand out for its novelty but also for the message it carries.

The rally's route is as challenging as it is scenic. After the initial shakedown stage in Vipingo, the real test begins, with competitors pushing through to Nairobi for a rest day and essential service stop at the Carnivore.

Then, it is a dash back down South, culminating in what promises to be a thrilling finish in Diani on December 18th.
